Wilton Cake Decorating Yearbook, 1977
And we're back! Woo!

So this is Wilton's Yearbook from 1977. I'm having to use photobucket for images because I allowed my paid LJ account to expire. Bear with me.

I...don't know.

A cake to celebrate Columbus Day! The most irrelevant holiday, second only to...

President's Day! My country tis of thee! Sweet cake of liberty!

Clearly, these people were on drugs.

See?

You know what I want on my next birthday cake? A marlin. Also a reminder about how bad I am at fishing.

WTF. Wait, is that Phyllis Diller?

This should never, ever, EVER be a thing.

And a cute one to finish.

Woo! Columbus came in number 2 or 3 or 4 or something and instituted slavery! Let's bake a cake!

These are so awesome. The clowns would rock a Halloween party.

Oh my shit, that bear cake. You just know it tastes like fruit punch or something like it.

The little girl with the wreath of candles on her head must be for St. Lucia Day, celebrated in the Scandinavian countries. It is traditional for a young girl to play the part of St. Lucia and wear a crown of candles. Don't try this at home, boys and girls.

I thought of St Lucia! And the only reason I know about St Lucia is because of American Girls and specifically Kristen. lol

I think the Fisherman cake's kind of cute and would be fun to do... and the bear and the tigers are adorable. I would totally make those, if I had the smallest amount of talent in the kitchen. Alas, I don't.

... How did they make the mushrooms? I really need to know because it's sort of making me stare at this lsd cake too long. o.O

Setting a cake on fire...

safer than setting your child's head on fire.

I think this was the cake decorating book that I used to learn how to do basic cake decorating. It brought back some amusing memories of practicing shells and dots on flipped over sheet pans.

Man, if that scary teddy bear doesn't give me nightmares, I think the clown cake will.
